Developing new methods of shadow installation:
weaving with fine twine, suspending a repeating pattern of paper cut so that individual imagery emerges within one unified overall design. Suspending crystals to create light diffraction and full spectrum optics. Illuminating with two or more points of high lumen light to create strong replicating shadows. Lenses and analogue filters create additional layers of colour and lighting effects.
I've been amazed at how many different images this particular paper cut creates: moths, butterflies, owls, skulls, demons, underwater sea creatures, and big horned big eared ungulates to name a few. By using lenses I'm able to magnify portions of the installations shadows to highlight some of the more intricate paper cut detailings.
